SPRAGUE RIVER, Ore. – Firefighters from the South Central Oregon Fire Management Partnership (SCOFMP) are on-scene at a wildland fire approximately seven miles east of the town of Sprague River, adjacent to Drews Road.
The fire was reported at 12:15pm and is currently about 38 acres and has zero percent containment. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Multiple outbuildings and vehicles were destroyed in the fire. More accurate damage assessments are being performed regarding residences.
Currently, Drews Road is closed.
Responders from Oregon Department of Forestry, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Klamath County Fire Districts 1, 3, and 5, Chiloquin Fire and Rescue, Keno, Merrill, Bonanza, Kingsley Field, and Bly Mountain Fire Departments, and private contractors are working with the Klamath County Sheriff’s Department, Oregon State Police and Pacific Power to combat the fire.
