StukelFire- Monday, October 15, 2018, 8:00 p.m.
Aviation resources had a major impact on the fire today. Firefighting resources included two helicopters, two heavy airtankers, and about 130 personnel. Air resources were obtained from Northern California to work the fire today. The airtankers dropped a total of ten loads of retardant on the fire, slowing the progress so that more ground resources could engage.
Work was concentrated on the south and east sides of the fire. Fire activity was primarily interior. Cooler nighttime temperatures and higher relative humidity should continue to reduce fire activity. Firefighters will continue to suppress the fire overnight.
A road closure remains in effect along Hill Road on the west side of Stukel Mountain. On the south end it is closed at Hill Road and Matney Way. On the north end it is closed from the junction of Reeder and Hill Roads. Dehlinger Road is closed from Hwy 39 to Hill Road. Evacuation Level 1 remains in effect.
