Harriman Fire Update  – June 23rd

Klamath Falls, Ore, – The Harriman Fire is currently burning on Fremont-Winema National Forest land west of Rocky point, near the Fourmile Flat quarry. The fire was reported June 22 at 12:45 p.m. and is estimated to be 10-15 acres in size. It is currently lined with a combination of dozers and handline. Crews will focus on securing control lines throughout the day.

Multiple ground and air resources are on scene including U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Oregon Department of Forestry, Rocky Point Fire, and contract resources. This includes 7 engines, 2 handcrews, 2 water tenders, and 1 dozer. Aviation resources are on standby.

The public is asked to stay away from the fire area for safety reasons. As a reminder, flying unmanned aerial systems (drones) near the area of the fire is dangerous and can cost lives.
