On Thursday, July 25, 2024 the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at the property belonging to, Alina Barriga, located on Golden Eagle Drive. Surveillance of the property revealed one (1)unpermitted greenhouse containing an illegal marijuana operation. This is the second consecutive year a search warrant has been served on this property for an illegal grow site.

Alina Barriga, 33, of Corning, California, was not located. Jesus Perez-Garcia, 57, previously of Fresno, California, was arrested and charged with:

• Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (ORS 475B.337)


• Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana (ORS 475B.349)

The on-scene investigation confirmed one (1) large greenhouse measuring approximately 165 feet in length. The greenhouse was used to grow at least 414 marijuana plants. Investigators located approximately 177 marijuana plants in the process of being dried, two large plastic totes containing processed marijuana, and 3 medium sized marijuana plants stillin planters. Also discovered was the illegal use of water to irrigate the marijuana plants and infrastructure for living, cooking, drying and packaging. Also located were potentially harmful fertilizers. It is estimated that over a period of 3 months more than 35,000 gallons of water was illegally used to grow this amount of marijuana.

Investigators observed a considerable amount of trash and debrisconsisting of thousands of feet of plastic drip tubing, plastic greenhouse coverings and more. Trash and debris are scattered throughout the property.

The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Basin Inter-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Klamath County Solid Waste, Klamath County Code Enforcement, U.S. Bureau of Land Management,Oregon State Police, Oregon Medical Marijuana Program, Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission, Oregon Department of Agriculture and the Oregon State Water Master.
