Detectives from the Klamath County Major Crime Team have been active with interviews and following up on leads to identify the suspect or suspects in this incident. A search warrant was obtained to conduct a search of the residence with the assistance from the Oregon State Police (OSP) Crime Lab, and the investigation is still ongoing. Additionally, notification had been made to the next of kin for the victim. The victim was identified as seventy-two (72) year old Timothy Allen Ayres of Klamath Falls who also resided at 3201 Quarry Street.
We are asking for the community’s assistance in bringing the person or persons responsible for Mr. Ayres’ death. On August 8th, 2024, at approximately 10:03 a.m., patrol officers from the Klamath Falls Police Department responded to 3201 Quarry Street regarding a welfare check on the resident after receiving a third-party report that the resident had been shot. Officers arrived at the residence and found the resident deceased. The Klamath County Major Crime Team was activated and is currently investigating this incident.
