9/22/25 – KLAMATH FALLS, OR – The Township Fire, which started on Sunday, September 21st at approximately 5:07 p.m. in the Klamath Hills, south of Klamath Falls near Lower Klamath Lake Road. The fire remains at an estimated 285 acres with 0% containment. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
There has been no new fire growth today, and overall fire activity has remained minimal. Some interior pockets of unburned vegetation ignited, but these flare-ups remained well within established control lines and did not pose a threat to containment efforts.
Firefighters spent the day reinforcing dozer and hand lines, and cold trailing areas where direct line construction is not possible, such as rocky outcroppings. These efforts aim to solidify control of the fire perimeter and prepare for future containment operations.
Smoke is expected to remain visible in the area over the coming days as residual fuels continue to burn within the fire footprint.
Currently, no evacuation orders are in place. However, the public is urged to avoid the fire area to ensure both firefighter and public safety.
Klamath and Lake counties are still in fire season. All outdoor burning is strictly prohibited until further notice.
Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
