KINGSLEY FIELD, Ore. — The final two remaining F-15 Eagle aircraft assigned to Kingsley Field are set to complete their last taxi Dec. 22, marking the end of an era for the iconic airframe in southern Oregon and for the 173rd Fighter Wing.
The historic taxi signifies the conclusion of decades of F-15 operations at Kingsley Field, where the aircraft played a central role in the wing’s mission to train combat-ready fighter pilots and support the nation’s air defense. Airmen, media and distinguished guests will observe the moment as the Eagles make their final movement across the flight line.
Since their arrival, the F-15 Eagles at Kingsley Field have been synonymous with air superiority, precision and excellence. The aircraft trained generations of pilots and maintainers, contributed to national security, and became a familiar and respected presence in the Klamath Basin.
The final taxi also represents a transition as Kingsley Field prepares for its next chapter and a new airframe, continuing the wing’s long-standing commitment to readiness, training and mission success.
