At about 9:08am 4-14-2018 The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of two females fighting in their pajamas (and possibly intoxicated) along the roadway. The reported fight location was along the highway 140 West at Varney Creek Road, a location west of the Rocky Point area. A reporting person told dispatchers that two females in their pajamas were fighting and pushing each other and one or more of the females had a black eye.
A short time later the Sheriff’s Office received additional information that the two females had jumped into the same vehicle (a black Chevy sedan) and were headed toward Klamath Falls on HWY140.
Sheriff’s Deputies intercepted the vehicle at about mile post 58-59 HWY140W a short time later and stopped it. During the roadside investigation it was discovered that one of the females had two outstanding arrest warrants.
Arrested:
Thelma May Charles (DOB 2-18-94) was arrested during the traffic stop for two outstanding warrants.
- Felony arrest warrant from Lake County, Oregon for Dangerous Drugs.
- Felony arrest warrant from Klamath County, Oregon for Robbery with $150,000 bail.
Deputies arrested and transported Thelma Charles to the Klamath County Jail where she was lodged. This incident remains under investigation and we will update if any new information becomes available.
