The Klamath County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating complaints of illegal marijuana production and diversion of illegally grown marijuana to other states for profit. The following cases were investigated in the past week. All suspects were cited to appear in court and not taken into physical custody.

On 08/14/18, KCSO deputies worked with the US Postal Service and the Illinois State Police and discovered a subject allegedly shipping marijuana to Illinois and receiving payment in cash through the mail. During the investigation, “36” marijuana plants were seized. Following investigation, the below listed subject was charged with the following.


Matthew True (44 years of age) Charges:

Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana)

Manufacture of Controlled Substance (marijuana)

Delivery of Controlled Substance (marijuana)

Exporting a Controlled Substance (marijuana)

On 08/16/18, KCSO deputies located an illegal marijuana grow operation in the 23000 block of Forbes Road, Sprague River, OR. A total of “167” marijuana plants were seized in excess of the “4” recreational plants allowed by Oregon Law. Following investigation, the below listed subject was charged with the following.

Nicholas Beddoes (31 years of age) Charges:

Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana)

Manufacture of Controlled Substance (marijuana)

On 08/17/18, KCSO deputies served a search warrant in the 27000 block of Fremont Road, Sprague River, OR. The property owners were not present at the location at the time of search warrant service. A total of “31” mature marijuana plants were seized. The investigation is continuing with potential charges to follow on those believed to be responsible for the grow site.
