On October 23, 2018, following a pursuit in the areas of Merrill and Malin, Oregon, Nickolas Beaumont was taken into custody by the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office. Beaumont’s original charges included:
- Felony Warrant: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (2 counts)
- Felony Warrant: Failure to Appear on charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Meth
- Felony Warrant: Theft
- Felony Warrant: Siskiyou County, Flight from an Officer and Obstruction of a Public Safety Officer
As the investigation into Beaumont’s crimes has proceeded, additional charges are being levied against him, including:
- Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle (3 counts)
- Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle
- Theft I – Motor Vehicle (3 counts)
- Attempt to Elude – Felony (2 counts)
- Attempt to Elude – Misdemeanor (2 counts)
- Reckless Driving (2 counts)
- Burglary I
- Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver – Property Damage
- Criminal Mischief II
- Resisting Arrest
- Theft I – Possession of Stolen Property
- Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon – Firearm
Investigations are still ongoing, and more charges may be added. Beaumont’s crime spree is suspected to have spanned multiple time periods and locations throughout Klamath County.
