The National Weather Service in Medford says that our area may begin to see smoke from the fires south of us in California as early as tonight. The smoke is forecast to be patchy in the Klamath Falls area the next few days.

Conditions continue to be very dry and there have been new fire starts in Oregon near Brookings, Clatsop County, and a fire last night in the Chiloquin area. It seems the summer fire season has somewhat continued into the fall. Humidity levels have been low keeping everything dried out.

A thermal trough is forecast to build in our area over the next few days providing us with near 60F temperatures during the day and mid 20’s or lower at night.

Here’s to hoping we will see an abundance of moisture come in soon.
