Donations being accepted for Camp Fire victims. Distribution set for Sunday, November 18th.
The community of Klamath Falls is supporting the victims of Camp Fire near Chico, CA with donations that will be taken to the victims this Sunday. The operation is dubbed Klamath Kare-A-Van.
The Klamath Kare-A-Van is accepting donations of gas cards, gift cards, non perishable food items, bottled water, NEW pillows, blankets, socks and underwear (must be new), personal hygiene items, denture care products, contact lens care products, diapers, baby care items, and pet food. At this time they are asking to please not bring anymore clothing.
Drop off locations include Starv’n Marv’n Family Restaurant, Steel Sensation, Ace Towing, 618 Restaurant on Simmers. Klamath Kare-A-Van will be departing Klamath Falls at 2:30 P.M. Sunday November 18.
Pacific Crest Credit Union is also accepting cash donations that will be sent to the victims.
This is not the first time Klamath Falls has rallied in support of fire victims. Klamath Falls also helped victims of the Carr fire last August.
Klamath Alerts has been made aware of many new scams already in place so we advise you to use caution when donating. People are reported to be standing outside various stores saying they lost everything in the fire. There also are reports of fake money raising charities being posted online for the victims. There is no doubt your donations would get to the victims if you give locally at the places mentioned above in the article.
