GRANTS PASS, Ore. – Once again, it is time for the Grants Pass Airport Day open house for the public! This free, fun, family-oriented event will take place at the Grants Pass Airport, 1441 Brookside Blvd., next to the Merlin Armory, June 15 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Featured events include a pancake breakfast presented by the Experimental Aircraft Association. Throughout the day, the public will be able to wander among an array of classic and home-built aircraft and talk with pilots and builders.
Admission is free, and breakfast, lunch and desserts will be available for purchase.
Come enjoy free parking at the National Guard Armory on Brookside Boulevard, with free shuttle-buses running continuously to and from Airport Central.
Pacific Aviation will be offering Photo Flights all day long – a great gift and the best way to see your community!
All will enjoy learning about the medevac operations centered at the airport. There will be low-level flybys of iconic aircraft and aerobatic flight by the Rogue Valley Flyers R/C club. At mid-morning the skies will fill with ultralights. There will be classic cars on display for all to see, and the West Coast Ravens will be demonstrating formation flying.
Again this year, Airport Day offers special focus on students and parents who are beginning to consider future career directions. Aviation businesses are expecting many job vacancies over the next decade as military veterans begin to retire from the industry. The opportunities for young people will abound.
