A Homicide Has Occurred Early This Morning In Klamath Falls
An active homicide investigation is underway by the Klamath County Major Crime Team that began at about 1:57am this morning.
First, police were called to the area of Wall Street and Michigan at about 1:36am on a report of two people in a physical fight that were reported to be under the influence of narcotics.
At about 1:57am police and fire units were dispatched to an address on Wall Street (very close to the prior fight call) for a report of an unresponsive person. This call led to the beginning of a homicide investigation and the major crime team was activated.
Klamath County District Attorney Eve Costello has confirmed the ongoing investigation. A suspect has been arrested and identified as Timothy McCarter who is 56.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released. Police from various local agencies have been on scene since 2am this morning. More details will be added as they become available.
Update: 7:19pm 8-3-19 – The suspect Timothy McCarter has now been lodged in the Klamath County Jail.
