KLAMATH FALLS, OR, November 14, 2019 At a regularly scheduled November 18th meeting, the Klamath Falls City Council will consider an Ordinance amending City Code as it relates to Downtown Parking District fees. Upon recommendation of the Parking Advisory Committee, a modification to the Employee definition in Code Section 7.130 is proposed that would make all non-seasonal employees subject to Parking District fees where only employees working between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. are subject to now.
The present Employee definition reads as follows:
Employee, Full-Time and Part-Time. Employee includes owners, manager, volunteers, employees, agents and outside sales persons, doing business. Persons who begin work after 5:00p.m. and leave before 8:00 a.m., will not be considered an “employee” and shall not be subject to the parking district fees.
The modified Employee definition if approved by Council through ordinance would read as follows:
Employee, Full-Time and Part-Time. The term employee encompasses not just employees but also includes owners, managers, volunteers, agents, and outside sales persons doing business. No additional changes relating to Parking District fees, boundaries, or time limits are proposed at this time. The sale of Full and Part-Time Employee Parking Permits will continue through 2020 City Business License renewals and new Business License applications. All interested citizens are invited to participate in a public hearing on the above matter. The regular November 18th City Council meeting will be held in Council Chambers located at 500 Klamath Avenue beginning at 7 pm.
