Emergency Alert: Highway 97 Near Mile Post 244 (Near Collier Park) a multi vehicle pile up has just occurred. The pile up now involves 3 semi trucks and a car. Very slick black ice conditions now reported in the area.
Highway 97 is completely blocked in the area in both directions. Emergency crews are responding but driving conditions are bad delaying the arrival.
Please use extreme caution in the area. The highway could be closed for an extended time. So far there are no reports of any serious injuries.
Update: 9:02pm
Northbound 97 now closed at MP 245. The first truck is a juice tanker. There are now four semi trucks involved in the MVA. At the present time fire reporting no injuries. Extended highway closure is expected to remove the trucks. One of them is stuck on a guard rail.
