A Klamath County Sheriff’s deputy, working under the recently signed enhanced services contract in Chiloquin, attempted a traffic stop in the area of E. Blocklinger St. and S. Park Av on December 30, 2019. The driver of the vehicle attempted to elude, which began a pursuit assisted by troopers from Oregon State Police, throughout the Chiloquin area. The vehicle pursuit ended on Modoc Point Rd when the driver and two passengers fled on foot where two of the three were later apprehended.
The driver of the vehicle, Donald Lloyd Campagna Jr., was booked and lodged into the Klamath County Jail for Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Attempt to Elude-Felony, Attempt to EludeMisdemeanor, Felon in Possession, Kidnapping II, Menacing, PCS-Methamphetamine, and a state parole board warrant.
The female passenger, Christina Marie Waterbury, was cited for possession of concealed weapon. The male passenger who fled the scene was not identified and is not expected to be an ongoing threat. Sheriff Chris Kaber stated: “This is exactly what we had in mind when the City of Chiloquin and I began discussing enhanced services a couple years ago. In this instance an expanded patrol led to the capture of a career criminal with outstanding warrants.”
