A cold front will move through today bringing mainly light rain west of the Cascades. Rain amounts around one quarter of an inch are expected along the coast and generally a tenth of an inch or less in inland western valleys. Snow is expected in the Southern Oregon Cascades above 5000 feet. Snow amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected.
Breezy to windy conditions are expected east of the Cascades with sustained wind speeds this afternoon generally 20 to 35 MPH. Wind gusts of 45 to 55 MPH will be common, but gusts up to 65 MPH are possible along Highway 31 from north of Paisley to Summer Lake.
Wind gusts of 30-40 mph are possible at Klamath Falls, Lakeview and Alturas today. Winds will subside this evening and remaining showers will end overnight as the air mass dries out and upper ridging offshore takes hold.
After the front passes through our region a return to 50-60 degree days and cold nights are expected for Klamath Falls. Forecast models are currently showing temperatures of 62F for Klamath Falls and 70’s for Medford next week.
