Pharmacy residents Stephani Jirikovic, PharmD, and Katie Bullock, PharmD, will graduate Saturday, June 20, from their year-long Pharmacy Graduate Residency program at Sky Lakes Medical Center.
The American Society of Health-system Pharmacists (ASHP) Pharmacy Graduate Residency PGY1 program builds on the residents’ Doctor of Pharmacy education. PGY1 residents acquire substantial knowledge required for skillful problem solving, refine their problem-solving strategies, strengthen their professional values and attitudes, advance their clinical judgment, develop leadership skills to advance the profession of pharmacy and be able to manage their pharmacy practice.
The program is designed to develop clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with various disease states and medical conditions, learn to work in collaborative teams and understand the complexities of serving a rural population.
Also, after completing the residency, the resident will be eligible for board certification and a second postgraduate year pharmacy residency or fellowship.
Katie will be practicing at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, while Stephani will be pursuing opportunities in the Portland area.
