On Thursday July 2, 2020 at approximately 2:30AM Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call of shots fired in the area of the 17000 block of Eagle Ridge Rd northwest of Klamath Falls.
The reporting party stated she was camping in the remote area and a pickup arrived with one or more male occupants. One of the pickup occupants fired several shots at her from a handgun when she refused to exit her car. The victim was injured by broken window glass and has been treated for those injuries.
Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any suspects, however the investigation is ongoing at this time. Very little descriptive information of the suspects or their pickup is available and should more information be developed the public will be made aware.
This incident appears to be of a random nature with no indication the suspects or victim were acquainted. The victim was not from this area and had been traveling between Portland and Reno.
