A strong winter storm system connected to an atmospheric river is expected to bring high winds, rain, and mountain snow to the region beginning Thursday. The strongest part of the system will impact our region Friday into Saturday. Most of the snow is expected to occur above 4500-5000 feet.

Storm Highlights:

  • Large breaking waves 27 to 32 feet with high surf and dangerous bar crossings.

  • Impactful snow above 4500 feet Thursday night through early Saturday.  (see graphic below. Snow totals may change.)

  • Strong gusty winds across the region Friday. (see graphic below. Wind gusts may change.)

  • Active weather pattern starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday.

An active weather pattern with several systems moving through southern Oregon and northern California will bring widespread rain and significant mountain snow. Large waves will cause additional marine concerns.
