A Klamath County Fire District #1 engine (3114) was damaged while on the scene of a traffic accident at Highway 97 and Dan O’Brien Way earlier this morning. Additionally, 3 Klamath Falls Police patrol cars were damaged as a southbound semi truck plowed through the accident scene between another semi and a Honda CRV. According to early information, the semi truck involved did not stop and continued south on Highway 97. CHP had been notified to be on the lookout for the semi truck.

As of posting time, Klamath Falls Police has not yet provided any details about the damage to their patrol cars. We will update with additional information as it becomes available.


Icy roads along with drivers traveling too fast for conditions were responsible for numerous traffic accidents today around Klamath County. This stretched emergency responder resources thin. This and many other incidents today were covered live in our breaking news app.
