Sharing your best photos taken in Klamath County could win you prizes and bragging rights!

Klamath Alerts will be launching a new photo contest beginning next weekend. The contest will occur on the Klamath Alerts Facebook Page where photographers of all experience levels can upload their best photos for voting consideration.

The Klamath Alerts Facebook audience will then decide on the best photo each month by casting their vote in the form of “likes” for the photo they would most like to see in the calendar. There will be one voting period a month and the winning photo will appear in a new Klamath County photo calendar that will be offered at the end of this year for 2022. The winning photographer each month will also receive a free calendar when they become available. The calendar will be available for purchase from Klamath Alerts to assist in funding the contest and to raise funds to support current and future services we that provide to the community.

Photos taken in the immediate surrounding area of Klamath County such as Tulelake, and the Lava Beds for example will also be accepted into the contest. The winning photographer each month should be prepared to provide a high resolution copy of their photo suitable for printing in our calendar. Most modern cameras and smartphones meet this requirement.

At the end of the year all 12 winning photos will have another round of voting for a “best of the best” vote. The “best of” winner will have their winning photo featured on the calendar cover and win a free 1 year subscription to our breaking news service.

The contest is just for fun and will produce a very unique calendar at the end of the year that was decided by the community.

So, get your best Klamath County photos ready! Watch for an announcement next weekend on our Facebook page when we accept photos for the first round of our new contest.
