Sky Lakes Family Birth Center welcomes the first babies of 2021. Jubilee Noel Millen and Dante Jose Pena.

Jubilee Noelle, born at 11:03 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, is the first baby of 2021. Jubilee is seven pounds three ounces and around 19.75 inches long.

Jubilee’s due date was Christmas day, but she waited until January to enter the world. Her parents Alyssa and Darrel Millen of Bly, are doing well and are, as Alyssa stated: “Blessed. Excited. Happy.”

Jubilee joins an older brother, Abel, who will turn two in February. Abel is happy to have a younger sibling, “He’s excited, he wanted to hold her right away” said Alyssa.

The second baby and first boy of 2021 is Dante Jose, born 11:48 am January 2. Dante is five pounds three ounces and 18.5 inches long.

Dante’s Parents Ramon Pena and Kay Ortega Pena of Klamath Falls are “excited to be home.” Dante is now the youngest of three boys. Older brothers Isaac and Jayden are “very excited” about the new baby, Dante is “A blessing to our family” said Kay.

The Millen and Pena Families received gift baskets to celebrate Jubilee and Dante as the first babies of the year. The Sky Lakes Volunteers have put together gift baskets every year for the first babies for decades: one for a boy and one for a girl.

This year the baskets included a small collection of newborn items, comfort care for mom, and a hand-made blanket donated by a Sky Lakes employee.

The Sky Lakes Family extends warm congratulations to the Millen and Pena Families and their new additions.
