Pool Fire burning near Agency Lake south of Chiloquin

CHILOQUIN, Ore. – Firefighting resources are currently responding to and working on fighting the Pool Fire east of Agency Lake, south of Chiloquin. The fire is burning on Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) protected lands.

The fire was reported at 2:30 this afternoon. It is estimated to be 30 acres and growing. There is no containment. The cause is currently under investigation.

There are multiple structures threatened. Multiple resources, including aerial and ground, are currently working on the fire or on order.

According to fire officials, early in the incident two engines took some heat from the fire. Both engines are back in service. There are no reported injuries related to the Pool Fire.

South Chiloquin Road is closed between Modoc Point Road and State Highway 62.

At the request of the Pool Fire Incident Commander, issued by Klamath County Emergency Management, the following Evacuation Level is in place:

Level 3 (GO NOW)
Residents to the south of South Chiloquin Road on Blue Pool Way to Witam Bluff Drive.

Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Search and Rescue Volunteers are in the process of evacuating affected residents.

American Red Cross along with Klamath County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) has is in the process of establishing an evacuation point and Kla-Mo-Ya Casino, located 34333 Highway 97 South in Chiloquin.
