The City of Klamath Falls is offering low income senior citizen snow removal assistance this winter. Upon request, qualifying senior citizens who are residents of the City, may request assistance in removal of snow from paved driveways and sidewalks at their homes.

Qualification Criteria:

Income:


  • Single – $22,550 annual gross
  • Couple – $25,800 annual gross

Age:

  • Must be at least 60 years of age

Residence:

  • Must be a single family residence, the primary residence for the applicant, and must be located within the city limits of the City of Klamath Falls.

Registration:

  • Seniors wishing to register may pick up a registration application form from City Police Department at 2501 Shasta Way or download an application at our website (http://www.klamathfalls.city) located under Your Government -> City Directory -> Code Enforcement -> Senior Snow Removal Program. Program registration may occur at any time throughout the winter.

Calls for Assistance:

  • During the coming winter, approved registered seniors may call City Code Enforcement at 541 883-5358 to request assistance. On a first come-first serve basis, Monday through Friday, the City will dispatch a private contractor to the residence to remove the snow and/or ice as soon as possible. The City will pay the contractor directly. The City will only respond to individual calls for assistance during the winter. Absent a call for assistance, the City will not automatically dispatch crews.

Limitations:

  • The City has budgeted $2,000 for this program for the 2021/2022 Winter. In the event these funds are expended in total, the program may immediately be discontinued. The City will retain the right to decline or discontinue providing snow removal assistance in instances of excessive or unreasonable requests.
