At approximately 6:00AM on Thursday October 6, 2022 Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies working with multiple agency partners, responded to a home in the 600 block of S. Park Ave in Chiloquin. Law enforcement officers surrounded the residence and initially took several individuals into custody. Deputies, knowing Eric Patrick Koon, age 19, was still inside the residence, made numerous attempts over the course of several hours to give himself up.
Deputies obtained a search warrant and at approximately 12:15PM entered the residence to locate Koon. After a thorough search of the residence Koon was located under the home in a crawl space where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Koon is the person of interest in an attempted kidnapping on September 18, 2022 and the successful kidnapping on September 20, 2022 of the same person. Koon eluded law enforcement throughout Klamath County on several occasions. Koon’s apprehension would not have been possible without the help of many people who have provided tips and information on this case. In addition, several agencies assisted the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office in the effort to apprehend Eric Patrick Koon, they include:

- Chiloquin Fire & Rescue
- Chemult Rural Fire Protection District
- Klamath County Fire District 1
Souner Blane Crain, age 47, is lodged at the Klamath County Jail with the following initial charges:
- Parole Violation
- Disorderly Conduct
- Assault II
- Assault IV
- Unlawful use of weapon
- Harassment
Eric Patrick Koon is lodged at the Klamath County Jail on the following initial charges:
- Kidnapping I
- Kidnapping II
- Burglary I
- Burglary II
- Assault IV
- Menacing x2
- Felon in possession of weapon
- Unlawful use of weapon x3
- Coercion x3
