December 2, 2022 at approximately 1:00PM Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 400 block of Sharp Road on a report of an individual that showed up at that residence and making threats with a handgun. It was also reported that the individual was wearing a “bulletproof vest”. The individual left the scene prior to deputies arriving and began traveling southbound on highway 97. The vehicle was reported to have made various turns and the reporting party thought
he may be headed to an address in Medford, Oregon.

Deputies responded toward highway 140 west in an effort to locate the subject vehicle. Several minutes later, the reporting party called back and said the individual was back at the Sharp Road address. Deputies responded back and were able to pick the vehicle up northbound on 97. Deputies pursued the vehicle 12.7 miles. During the pursuit, Latham threw the firearm out the window and it was later recovered. Deputies continued onto hwy 140 west while being assisted by Oregon
State Police and Klamath Falls Police Department. Spike strips were deployed on hwy 140 west near Ridgewater and were successful. The vehicle came to a stop on the side of the road and the individual was taken into custody without further incident.

 

Parker Joseph Latham, age 30 of Medford, OR, was lodged at the Klamath County Jail on the following initial charges:

  • Felon in Possession of Body Armor
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful use of a Weapon
  • Pointing a Firearm at Another
  • Menacing
  • Burglary I
  • Felony Attempt to Elude
  • Reckless Driving
  • Recklessly Endangering
