KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A five-member brass band will perform Civil War-era music during the 1800s Days living history event Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Klamath County Museum.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the museum, 1451 Main St. Admission is free and open to anyone interested.

Performances by the 7th Illinois Infantry Band will be given at 10 a.m. and again at noon.

The Medford-based ensemble performs as a re-incarnation of a band that was originally formed during the Civil War. They are affiliated with the Cascade Civil War Society, which is organizing the event.

“We’re always pleased to have live music performed inside our museum building, where so many great bands have played over the years,” said museum director Todd Kepple. “We’re looking forward to hearing some melodies that meant a lot to people who lived during a dark period in our nation’s history.”

The Civil War club will display antique and replica firearms, including two heavy artillery pieces mounted on wheels.

The museum will display numerous historic firearms, including a Colt Model 1855 revolver rifle that was found in the Malin area.
