

Thursday April 27th at 2:48pm, Klamath County Fire District 1 and Kingsley Field Fire Department were dispatched to a residential structure fire. The incident location was at the 1000 block of Homedale road in Klamath Falls. The first arriving Engine Company found smoke and flames coming from the rear of the residence.
The occupants were attempting to get their pets out of the residence when crews arrived on scene. One occupant suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by EMS crews on scene. All other occupants were safe.
Fire crews pulled multiple pets safely from the structure. One dog was rushed to a local vet for burns and smoke inhalation. Three dogs and multiple birds perished in the fire.
The fire caused several thousand dollars of damage to the home and contents. The home is uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
