A walking tour of Linkville Cemetery will be offered at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, by the Klamath County Historical Society.
Society members will discuss about a dozen early-day residents of Klamath County who are buried in the pioneer cemetery. Veterans of the armed services will be the primary focus of the tour.
Among the individuals who will be highlighted is J.P. Lee, a veteran of the Confederate Army who came to Klamath County and eventually became county clerk.
The tour will also examine the curious and confusing story of James Wisher, another Civil War veteran..
The tour will begin at the flagpole near the cemetery entrance. The tour is free and open to anyone interested. Most of the tour will be on paved roads, with brief portions off the road.
