Corey Lane Alexander was located this afternoon by searchers approximately 1 ½ miles from where his vehicle had been located two days prior. Regretfully, Mr. Alexander was found deceased.
Near noon today, searchers located footprints in the snow in an area not previously searched. Along with the prints were those of a dog indicating it was likely Mr. Alexander. Other searchers and deputies located other tracks indicating an unusual pattern of travel.
Volunteer searchers followed tracks in the snow by snowmobile until they located the deceased and the dog.
The family has been notified and the dog was returned to the family.
A death investigation is underway and the cause of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office.
