The history of food production, marketing and distribution in the local Klamath Falls community will be examined in a presentation to the Klamath County Historical Society at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28.
The program titled “Klamath Basin Local Food: A Historical Perspective” will be given in the main exhibit hall of the Klamath County Museum at 1451 Main St. The program is free and open to anyone interested.
“For many years, most of the groceries consumed by households in Klamath Falls came from farms and ranches in the nearby area,” said Todd Kepple, director of the Klamath County Museum and presenter. “We’ll take a look at some of the local brands that were well known to everyone in the region.”
Examples of local brands include Klamath Falls Meat Co., Crater Lake Creamery, Fluhrer Bakery, and Gooding Egg Farm.
The presentation will include dozens of images taken at food production facilities in the Klamath Falls area.
For more information contact the museum at (541) 882-1000.

Two of the women in that photo are Marge Sisemore (married to then attorney Orth Sisemore) and Patty Williams who worked for Earl Reynolds, who was director of the Klamath County Chamber of commerce. I have an idea but do not know for sure who the third woman is. Patty Williams (Mrs. Bryant Williams) was my mother.
