Chiloquin District will begin prescribed burning this week. Starting Tuesday, April 30, burning will begin on the J Lo Project located East of Highway 97 and North of Modoc Point.
It includes approximately 1,200 acres. Smoke will be visible from Highway 97. The plan is for two to four days of pile ignitions and a week to 10 days of residual smoke.
Klamath County Public Health officials noted, depending upon weather conditions, there may be smoke intrusion in Chiloquin, Sprague River, Beatty, Bly and Bonanza
