On May 5, 2025, Detective Labeads Yahwhee of the Klamath Falls Police Department, who is assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit, received a tip regarding the online exploitation of children.
Detective Yahwhee initiated an investigation into the tip. Following an extensive investigation, he identified the suspect as 64-year-old Johnny Long of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
During the initial investigation, Detective Yahwhee developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for Mr. Long’s residence. During the execution of the search warrant, several items of digital evidence were seized and later examined.
After the evidence was examined, the case was presented to a grand jury on October 19, 2026. The grand jury returned a true bill, and an arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Long.
On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Mr. Long was contacted and taken into custody on the warrant without incident.
Mr. Long was transported to the Klamath County Jail, where he was lodged on three counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First Degree.
