Lost River Jr./Sr. High School is now the Home to a Seismic Monitoring Station.

Lost River Jr./Sr. High School is now the home to a seismic monitoring station. This earthquake-measuring device is part of the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network. Dr. Leland O’Driscoll, Oregon Seismic Network manager at the University of Oregon, taught Lost River students about earthquakes and earthquake monitoring when he installed the device in January.

To see live data from the station, go to the website pnsn.org/seismograms/map and find Lost River on the map. The station’s name is UO.LOST.
