A thermal trough (heat wave) is forecast to develop over our area starting on Thursday. Highs for the Klamath Basin should be in the mid to upper 90’s and lows in the high 50’s to low 60’s. Klamath Falls should reach around 98F on Thursday! The heat is forecast to last at least into early next week.

The NWS is keeping an eye on some moisture and instability in the atmosphere beginning on late Thursday and Friday. There is a potential to fire some pretty good thunderstorms then during our region. We’ll update this as it gets closer. Expect highs in the 105-106 range in the lower elevations during the heatwave. Medford is forecast to reach 105F on Thursday.

Just a reminder to stay hydrated and use caution working outside in the afternoon heat.
