A wildfire has closed Highway 97 near Midland.

5:49pm a detour is reported in place on 97.


6-26-19 5:23pm – Multiple fire engines from Klamath County Fire District 1, Oregon Department of Forestry, and Keno Fire are on scene or responding to a wildfire that started under suspicious circumstances.

Highway 97 has just been closed in the area so fire crews can access the fire better. An all call has been initiated by District 1. Trains have been stopped in the area of the fire. The fire is on the west side of the highway currently. There are 30mph gusts currently in the area causing the fire to spread. The fire is at risk of spreading and jumping the highway according to crews on scene.
