A system arriving this weekend will bring some much needed rainfall to the area late Friday night into Sunday. Cooler temperatures will arrive with this system and Sunday will be the coolest day of the forecast period. Expect high temperatures Sunday to be around 10 degrees cooler than what high temperatures will be on Friday. In addition to rain and cooler temperatures, winds will be quite breezy across the area Saturday afternoon and evening, especially east of the Cascades and in the Shasta Valley. While the bulk of the precipitation is expected Saturday, showers will linger through Sunday.

A warming and drying trend is expected after this storm system exits the region.
