  • Winter storm watch above 4000 feet in Siskiyou County starting Christmas morning and continuing into Saturday morning.

  • Snow accumulation expected along I-5 near Mt. Shasta City and Siskiyou Summit.

  • Strong winds possible along the coast, Shasta Valley, higher terrain and east of the Cascades. Even the more sheltered valleys could see some gusty winds Christmas afternoon and evening.

A snow storm is expected to impact travel mainly in Northern California on Christmas day in the late afternoon and overnight.

Looks like some locations will have a white Christmas! Most of the snow will fall during Christmas evening. We’ll see roughly 8 to 12 inches over the higher California terrain with localized peaks seeing up to 2 feet of snow. Mt Shasta City will likely see snow Christmas evening into Christmas night with 4 – 6 inches in the forecast. The Cascades will see between eight to twelve inches of fresh snow with this winter weather event.
