Gusty winds will also accompany the storm in the local area. The storm will bring with it a substantial pattern change to our local area that is expected to last beyond next week.

Periods of smoke will continue to impact air quality through Sunday for areas near ongoing fires, especially west of the Cascades.
An atmospheric river will move onshore Sunday afternoon and evening, bringing periods of moderate to heavy rain to southern Oregon and northern California.

Strong winds could cause a few downed trees – especially for trees that still have most of their leaves – power lines, and maybe even damage a couple of buildings.

Southern Oregon and northern California will remain under an unsettled weather pattern for most of next week, but impacts lessen after Tuesday.
