At 10:00pm on Saturday night, the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a person believed to be missing in the area of the Williamson River Highway and the Forest Service Road 45. This area is approximately 10 miles NE of Chiloquin, OR. Reportedly missing is Corey ALEXANDER, a 54-year-old man and his 1-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever. The initial report indicated a friend and sometimes roommate observed Mr. Alexander a couple of miles from his cabin, before the snow storm, however he didn’t speak with him and couldn’t remember the exact date or time he actually saw him.
Sheriff’s Office deputies spent most of the first night searching the area and snow-covered roadways and they were able to locate Mr. Alexander’s locked pickup with 2-feet of fresh snow on it. There were no tracks in the snow or indication of a possible direction of travel. The area around the cabin where Corey Alexander stayed was also searched and there was no indication that anyone had been at the cabin since the snow-storm. Also learned was that another vehicle normally at the cabin is missing and efforts are underway to clarify where that vehicle may be. The family indicates that Mr. Alexander is an avid outdoorsman.
On Sunday, a Sheriff’s Office deputy and a Search and Rescue volunteer returned to the location and located an area where the subject may have been cutting wood and followed flagging left by someone to an apparent poached elk which had been dead for some time. No further indications led to a defined search area.
On Monday the 15th, friends and family are searching the area joined by Sheriff’s Office deputies and Search and Rescue volunteers. The entire area remains under deep snow, at times requiring snow-shoes and tracked vehicles.
Corey Alexander was last seen wearing a plaid jacket and blue jeans. He is 5’10, 175 lbs. with gray hair and brown eyes.
Attempts to locate a missing vehicle are also underway. It is described as a 1987 Isuzu Cargo Van (white) Oregon License plate # 819LHG.
If anyone has information about Mr. Alexander’s whereabouts, please contact Klamath County Emergency Dispatch (911) or the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office at 541-883-5130.

Thought and prayers for him and his dog so safe return.
Prayers for the man and family.😓🙏❤️Hope they find him. People should be 2 or 3 people when going in the snow. Why leave cabin?.
