Operational Update: Crews continue to make good progress in the Flat Lake and Saddle Mountain areas, reinforcing and improving control lines. Dozer line was constructed on the southeast side of the fire on both sides of Bliss Road. Night shift worked to improve control lines and conducted firing operations along the southwest edge of the fire. Today crews will be working to hold and improve lines on multiple fronts around the perimeter of the fire.
On the northern portion of the fire, structural firefighters continued mopping up around structures and monitored for any remaining heat or signs of fire activity throughout the area. Crews focused on the Yonna Woods and Bly Mountain areas, where they performed proactive structure preparation and protection, identifying priorities and improving defensibility ahead of potential fire movement. This work is intended to give firefighters the best opportunity to protect homes and other structures should fire activity increase. Crews will continue this work today while remaining prepared to provide point protection if the fire pushes toward structures.
Weather: Warm, very dry and breezy conditions Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures on the ridgetops mid-80’s, valleys low 90’s. Humidity 13-16%.
