New Wildfire Start In Klamath County In Sprague River Area

Incident Start Date 7-31-19

A new wildfire has started in Klamath County and was reported about an hour ago to Klamath County 911. Multiple fire resources are en route or already on scene of a fire that was last reported to be spreading at a steady rate and just over 1 acre in size.

The fire is currently being called “Sprague River” and is located in the area of Drews Road and Clackamas. This is Northwest of Beatty.

A helicopter was en route to the fire at time of this update and more aircraft have been ordered.

The Sheriff’s Office has been called to help with road closures and traffic control.

A member of our breaking news app is close to the scene and reported to us that the fire is near a burn scar from a fire in the same area last summer.

Update 9:05pm forward spread of fire has been stopped as of last update. Two helicopters and some engines have been released from the scene.
